About Chittorgarh Fort

Chittorgarh Fort, also known as Chittaur Fort, was the home of the proud and brave Rajput warriors. It is the largest fort in India and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort complex includes several historical palaces, gates, temples, and two commemorative towers. Legend says it was built by the Maurya ruler Chitrangada Maurya.

The fort, roughly shaped like a fish, has a circumference of 13 kilometers (8.1 miles) and covers an area of 700 acres. Its massive walls and strategically built structures offer expansive views and a glimpse into Rajput history and architecture. Exploring the fort can take several hours, and it is highly recommended to hire a local guide to understand its rich history and significance.
